Christopher has been walking tall since the early 1980's, in the Circus, in stage shows, and at festivals and events. He has walked all of the major types of stilts, from the old hand held ones kids play on, to construction "dry wall" stilts, to single pole "Chinese" stilts, to the newer gymnastic jumping stilts. He's walked heights from a few inches high to 9'-6" to the bottom of his feet. (That's like walking on the second floor of a house - without the house!)
Today, most of his stilt characters work events where they interact with the crowds, so he is usually only walking 3' - 4' feet tall stilts (which makes him between 9' and 10' tall, certainly someone to look up to....)
Available characters include:
The Tall Guy
Train Conductor (a la Polar Express)
World's Tallest Elf
Characters may be customized (to a degree) for particular themes (Mardi Gras, corporate functions, trade shows, themed festivals and events) and original characters may be commissioned.
Christopher also offers stilt training for shows, theme parks, and other events. He's trained stilt walkers for Ringling Bros., TheatreVCU, Kings Dominion, Theatre IV, Richmond Rec & Parks, and more for productions of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Carnival, Barnum, Halloween Haunt, The Magic Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, and Arabian Nights.
Sorry, he'd be happy to answer your questions about stilt walking, but he does not do individual training.
